If Earth rotated 16x faster, then centrifugal forces at the equator would render everything weightless there. Even now, chubby Santa weighs about a pound less at the equator than at the North Pole.https://twitter.com/RobScherme/status/948052305982582784 …

Related (fixed) question. If earth rotated about 18x faster, would we be weightless at the equator? If yes, could a planet like this come into existence?

        Gravity at the North Pole is 9.80665 m/s² Gravity at the equator is 9.77275 m/s² 9.77275 / 9.80665 * x = x - 1 x = 1 / (1 - 9.77275 / 9.80665) ≈ 289 pounds at North Pole https://image.gsfc.nasa.gov/poetry/ask/a11511.html …

Male reindeer lose their antlers in the winter. So Santa's reindeer are female and female reindeer weigh 180-260 pounds. These are rough numbers the change is within rounding error. weightAtEquator = 9.77275 / 9.80665 * weightAtNothPole

Sort of. The position of the moon or being in a cave under a mountain change it a little.

Not really. Also out of curiosity I calculated the moon's effect on gravity on Earth: max change is 0.0000006203 m/s² (+0.0000003047 m/s² to -0.0000003156 m/s²)

Is speeding up the rotation of the Earth and relocating to an equatorial nation a viable plan to achieve a weight loss goal? Asking for a friend.

Isn't some of this attributed to the fact Earth is an oblate sphere and someone at the equator is further from Earth's center of gravity? On a non rotating Earth wouldn't Santa weigh more at the poles? (Not factoring in the cooking of Mrs. Claus)
