This is what i'm learning in my college anthropology class! Everything is a social construct! Up is down! Black is white! Conspiracy!pic.twitter.com/nmHZLAUeEA

And you have deeply misunderstood Kuhn. Verifiable facts can safely coexist with social constructions. Pluto still in orbit; not a planet.
This doesn’t refute Kuhn, and it overstates the effectiveness of institutionalized science’s self-regulatory effectiveness.
The article doesn't have enough depth to counter @Jazerus_ point of Kuhn & Pluto. Instead, it more argues we would never reclassify Pluto.
Do you know what a Quine-Duhem is?
Thank Trump & company for completely messing up the public's understanding of what 'facts' are & how science works! Trump needs neither!
This misunderstanding by people of what 'facts' are, what science is (and isn't) & how science works (or is supposed to) is getting scary!

u confl8 material fact w/ social fact. E.g. material fact= church is a building. Social fact= church is a building w/ religious significance
So the prof's phone is based on 1000 material facts, the status symbol of an iphone (if an iphone is still a status symbol) is a social fact
Those are all just 'facts'- i.e. 'A statement that is true & verifiable'. In other words facts & science are identical for Humans & Aliens!
I agree. Just because a fact maybe the result of a social construct doesn’t make it any less factual
Kuhn is sharing insights on how reality works, not how science works. Science is a subset in reality. Wikipedia:pic.twitter.com/apl6nrgHZK
