Thanks Dr. deGrasse Tyson for giving the folks at NWS and NOAA a shout out. These guys work day and night to give us straight info.

why would a government that supports that be able to do anything different to prevent all this? Trees get dry. Light on fire. Come on!!
-
If the government doesn't see a problem they won't take preventative action. E.g. Forest and coastal infrastructure management
-
Trumps been in office less then a year so his 'management' actions would have no effect on the current fires. It would be Obamas policies
-
Absolutely true. But pulling out of the Paris Accord out of spite will have ramifications for decades.
-
That has nothing to do with the wild fires. Those are because they stopped doing mass controlled burns to manage the forrest years ago
-
It has nothing to do with it now, but it will. As climate heats up, fires will start more readily, burn more easily & be harder to put out.
-
Climate change causes extremes in both directions. It could also cause the wettest years on record. LA had tons of rain last year

There were 3 HUGE hurricanes in the pacific of all oceans by Hawaii az got a ton of rain I think too since one went by west mexico.
-
That occurred much further south, there4 closer 2 the equator, there4 warmer water, there4 more likely occurrence. In the N Atlantic...wow!?
-
Ohhhhh forgot it was closer to the equator. Now it makes more sense for there to be hurricanes there
-
The Pacific generally produces more and larger hurricanes. This is a very unusual occurrence in the Atlantic, so it matters.
-
Isn't the pacific usually colder?
-
I don't know the exact dynamics behind it, I only know that it is so.
