@neiltyson Yo is it true that, even tho there are 7 billion more people today than 3 million years ago, that the world weighs the same now??

FYI: Earth gains several hundred tons of mass per day, mostly from (small) meteors. People are in equilibrium with the Sun & food chain.

Does the gain in mass alter our orbit? Will we crash into/drift away from the sun?

So the balance of mass and gravity keeping the earth and moon in orbit is unaffected by increased gravitational pull from more mass?

Look at the universe like a compact disk. Some forces like gravity are re-used from one plane of existence to the next.

Neutrinos must be responsible for dark matter. They move at a velocity slightly less than c. They have mass. They almost never interact.

Or, the orbit doesn't depend on mass, since both gravity and centripetal force change in same rate? What about conservation of momentum ?
