NASA used the metric system to send them there
-
"Nope" is not a fucking argument ffs
-
if you've taken any college physics you'd know you never use imperial units.. all fundamental physics constants are in metric units...
-
NASA didn't switch to Metric until ~1990. They even continued using both for a while after. (Remember the Mars probe we lost in '99)
-
not completely true, the computer was programmed in SI units and converted to imperial for operational uses https://www.doneyles.com/LM/Tales.html
-
Similar to what caused the Mars probe to be lost (they forgot to convert then). Pre 1990 mostly Imperial some metric, post 1990 vice versa

1.) I wonder how many Americans each year get busted for speeding because they just blindly assume 80 = mph. Also, in "Trump's America" —

Those types of people tend not to have passports in the first place.

Also computer temperature measurements! The rest of the stuff in a PC can't decide between metric and imperial...

-
I still don't understand why the us doesn't switch, we did years back and it was fine

We have 2 l bottles of soda and gallons of milk.
-
Also ounces right? Or are they half liters by now?
-
Nothing comes in half liters not even soda. If it smaller than one liter it's in ounces. It's weird
-
Except wine in 750ml bottles.
-
Water bottles 500ml
