Humans are primates & belong to the great ape family, Hominidae. We share a common ancestor with other apes rather than "come from them".

I would suggest reading up on paleoanthropology or the study of human origins including our hominin ancestors, like Lucy (A. afarensis).pic.twitter.com/0w2WJKdUya

I also hosted podcasts for
@StarTalkRadio on the subject including Neanderthals, teeth, & what makes us human.https://www.startalkradio.net/bio/natalia-reagan/ … -
I will post some articles of recent discoveries: https://www.newscientist.com/article/2128834-homo-naledi-is-only-250000-years-old-heres-why-that-matters/amp/ …

First, humans are great apes. We belong to the family Hominidae. And we share a common ancestor with-rather than evolved from- other apes.
-
And both humans -and the other great apes- continue to evolve.

Boy, I love me some Natalia.
-
Thank you very much! As a token of my appreciation, here's a pic of spider monkey for you (this was in Costa Ric).pic.twitter.com/wZj2Y5E3T4
-
:O Natalia tweeted back at me.
@natalia13reagan I like primates and all, but how come all the photos you tweet have genitalia in them? -
Maybe you should be asking these monkeys why they keep showing me their junk ;) Here's a G rated pic from fieldwork in CR!pic.twitter.com/bLoJlg5ScH
-
Junk free photos are boring. I now understand why you prefer them.
-
Ha! I don't have a preference, I just take the photos of what is presented to me.
-
Which begs the question: why are primates persistently presenting their genitalia to your lens?
-
I'm sorry. I think I heard you utter the word genitalia on Tuesdays podcast and it seems to be my fav word of the week.
