Too bad our government who manages the street lamps is inept at science…

Yes. Trump has heard that Captain Ahab has been doing some really good work lately.

Streetlights are pretty low voltage, that's not something I'm losing sleep over unless the curtains are open.
-
Voltage is irrelevant in this case; provided the right current, you can achieve the same amount of work (wattage) with varying voltage.
-
I believe you I'm not an expert but power companies charge by voltage used no?
-
They do not, but rather track kWh, or kilowatt-hours. Work over time. A watt is the product of volts times amps. More work = higher bill.
-
And of course the original tweet also ignores lumens per watt is not uniform across all light fixtures anyway.
-
Well, assuming the same type of lamp, theoretically you can do half as much work if you redirect half the work you were already doing.
-
This conversation could go on forever. Cost effective to build a fixture where all light focuses down? Public entities pay less 4 power
-
This is the idea behind LED street lamps. LEDs consume far less power for similar output to older lamps, so implementation may be high /1

My wife continues to leave me
-
Have you tried a shade, though?
-
Perhaps then only half of her would leave?
-
Ah, but which half would he prefer to stay?
-
I only see my kids on the weekends.
-
I'm sorry for your misfortunes.
