Waste of money and prevents new generations of kids to look up & see the wonder of our universe.
-
That's the point. Don't let 'em get started on science and they'll never worry about truth.

I made sure my son had his 1st telescope at 4YO. He doesn't feel small - he feels empowered (he's now 17).

I think star(s) (Japanese lacks a plural for inanimate objects) was among my oldest child's first words.

Off topic, but that's a very interesting fact! And your eldest sounds like a curious, lifelong learner. Well done :)

If I didn't take her out for an evening walk, it would be "星を見たい!" as she'd try to get to a window or balcony.

Hi - I'm trying to learn verbal Japanese from a friend, but I don't know characters - what was that word? I love Japanese culture...
-
What word? That I used? "星を見たい" = "Hoshi wo mitai" = "STAR-direct-object SEE-voluntative" = "I want to see/look-at stars."

Wasting money to light up the night sky whilst simultaneously denying millions of us the chance to look up and see our galaxy and more.

That would depend a lot on where you live. Just having a dark sky would be superb either way though.
-
The world would be so much different if we could all see the Milky Way galaxy at night.
