@neiltyson I love you, but correlation does not equal causation. Interesting numbers though.

@pkmonaghan@neiltyson In this case it certainly does. Less-educated, low-information voters tend to vote for stupid candidates. -
.
@axian@neiltyson But a strong correlation is certainly cause for further study to determine causation. -
@pkmonaghan this has been studied to death. Higher Education tends to make people more likely to vote liberal

@neiltyson Funny how the most educated people have no clue how the economy works. -
@robertmclaws interesting that thats the conclusion you draw as opposed to "maybe I don't know how the economy works" -
@melbacoast As a job creator myself, I have a relatively good idea of how the economy works. The educated ppl voted for someone who doesn't - 1 more reply

This is bad science (shows correlation/causation fallacy) and bad education (encourages, by example, bad, lazy thinking habits)

@cfchabris@neiltyson Bad, but the relationship is there pic.twitter.com/kFGBolMc It's a different matter if it needs more context and nuance
-
It's not about "context" or "nuance." It is simply wrong to say that an association is evidence of a causal effect
