Late to the party here, but In this year’s , ’s character Maverick ejects from a hypersonic plane at Mach 10.5, before it crashed.
He survived with no injuries.
At that air speed, his body would splatter like a chainmail glove swatting a worm. Just sayin’.

I've done it before. It's not that hard. Just have to kind of hold your breath for the first 8 machs to fade off.

I always thought there would have been a capsule ejection system a lot like the xb70. That said I dont think much would survive a 10.5 Mach ejection

Isn’t that altitude dependent? If he’s at 100k feet, the air resistance is negligible.
