So what your saying is that aggression, toxic masculinity, and the military are responsible for all scientific advancement throughout history. Good to know. Thanks, Neil.

I can’t (and won’t) make you read the book — you will have to do it on your own initiative. But if you did, that Tweet would have never arisen in your thoughts. -NDT

You should be grateful for "dicks" like Columbus. It's people like him that got things done. It was and 500 some odd years ago, dude. Give him a break.

My tweet was an If/then sentence, conveying no opinion of my own. Although you surely agree it was a dick move. That being said, Columbus may be the single most important person in world history, for reasons not commonly cited. Am writing that up now. -NDT

"Looking more reasons to conclude that Christopher Columbus was a dick? Look no further:" That sounds awfully a lot like a judgement to me. I am curious about why you say he was the single most important person in history. Do tell.

After humans migrated across the Bering Straight land-bridge into N&S America, the ice age ended, melting glaciers, closing that route & *stranding* an entire branch of our species for 10,000 yrs. Columbus’s voyage permanently & irreversibly assured we would remain as one species

Wow! That's pretty strong. I'm sure we can now all cut him some slack for hoodwinking a few natives here and there.

Of course he was a dick. He did horrible things in the name of Catholicism and the Crown. Let’s not forget his men spreading all sorts of diseases in the New World. Instead of having a holiday for something Columbus never did, we should name an STD vaccine after him

We're so close to start rewriting history books to make look everything more politically correct... "Christine Columbus, a Trans asian lesbian, arrives to America in 1492, an immediately became friends with the natives and everybody was happy until Trump got elected"
