Didn't @joerogan teach you to never read the comment trolls? Don't let the internet get to you, sir.
Post and drop
Some are more interested in controversy than science.
Bill Nye isn't even a scientist for what it's worth....
Seriously. The guy was just a mechanical engineer with Boeing who has half a dozen patents...
I was defending the people on the right side of the article,
I wasn't taking anything away from Bill...
Not a very reasonable defence if you're claiming his ignorance with regards to philosophy is justifiable on grounds that he is not a scientist. He and the others are not scientists in any significant sense. They're among the vulgar empiricists staring at shadows on the cave wall.
Oh Lord, I was taking a stab at the people who wrote the article.. save your breath
This is an informal setting; you don't have to address me as Lord. Have a pleasant evening, citizen.
And you.... Citizen....
As a scientist with a BA in philosophy, I find both sets of comments extremely disheartening. And wrong. The notion that 20th century science settled all the outstanding questions in epistemology is nonsense.
you don't need to self qualify yourself before speaking. just sayin
Has it ocurred to you that it might have been for the sake of context?
it offers no context
Always the truth @neiltyson thanks for your hard work and insights!!pic.twitter.com/DwxuNTsSRq
Take it to them Dr. Tyson! When I hear people of science bemoan the decay of interest in science by mere mortals I think of the elitist attitudes of so many of them that dismisses the spirit of curiosity of the young mind. You are a breath of fresh air to the un-stodgy among us!
Neil you have done more than your fair share of educating me and my kids about the Universe, Nature and Science and for that I say THANK YOU!
