Getting back to this one — this is one of the *very* few books about startups genuinely worth studying. (Book: Traction, by
@yegg) The only nitpick I have is that the hyperbole undertitle does the book a disservice. It really is a down-to-earth, useful book, not feel-good stuff.pic.twitter.com/2uvMNFMnaw

This is as good a use of $5 as it ever gets. Literally cost the same as a latte. Thanks,

I know this is totally not the usual use case for the support chat app on the Aether Pro website, but I occasionally get messages like that and it makes my day.pic.twitter.com/a72iM4Al5N

After spending a week working with Stripe on the myriad of ways recurring credit card payments can fail, the only thing I can say is that I now have very conflicted feelings about the European Union. Illustrated below: 3D Secure 2pic.twitter.com/jpd45TaSfS

That would explain why the new chips at the top of the market, like Threadrippers and EPYC are ginormous.pic.twitter.com/wsIA3JAAdi

We’re still on the left side of the peak, but past the ultimate value it’s going to settle at the rightmost. It’s useful - it solves many problems - not all - and not always. But there’s still a lot of value to be gained there compared to the world in which it does not exist.pic.twitter.com/rTivvH2yez

Imagine how cool it would be if your 65-email 9-person email thread could surface what's important, and tell you who responded to what. So that's what we do. That alone cuts down on the noise *drastically*. This is way, way better than text chat if you're 5+ people.pic.twitter.com/JNEQBvRgbh

I suspect you know what I'm talking about if you're a software developer, a designer, or PM. Now imagine you have a team of people suffering from this. How much productivity do you lose to that? 5%? 50%? Probably something in between. So the end goal would be like this:pic.twitter.com/Ciye4jQsyr

I made a (new) thing with Aether: Aether Pro. (https://aether.app ) I think it's cool for a bunch of reasons. The biggest of all, though, um, let me draw you a graph. (
#famouslastwords) If this is your day, you're probably someone who needs to focus. This helps with that.pic.twitter.com/kcArvuNy0s

PSA: Getting the Apple Card? You’re not the only one. Spear phishers know people have been waiting for emails from Apple too. Watch out for these.pic.twitter.com/pm51Tcqx2Q

This is up there with the Soviet safety posters that show exactly how accidents happen, to gruesome detail. Very effective at the cost of some mental wear and tear, a fair trade off if there is any. More: https://weirdrussia.com/2016/05/03/soviet-work-safety-posters/ …pic.twitter.com/H1FsREBFZC

This is a good profile to test for rural America, it’ll also be OK for rural Eastern Europe. W. Europe is faster, denser countries are slightly faster, GDP per capita correlates inversely with packet loss. If you’re not targeting India this should be good enough worst case.pic.twitter.com/9kSBgM2mFc

On one hand, my heart goes to my Google colleagues battling this monster of an outage this beautiful Sunday afternoon in San Francisco On the other hand I launched the pilots for Aether Pro on Google Cloud literally yesterday night and it hasn’t even been a day so I’m bitterpic.twitter.com/0aKZBOB7Ur

Reminder to Elementary OS folks that trying to make a ‘Mac OS killer’ from Linux takes more than picking a pretty wallpaper. Great idea, although: This is a fatal error.

At the
@humane_tech_now Center for Humane Technology event. On the low chance there are any Aether people here, come say hi
From the way the invite came over to me, I hope / suspect P2P might be a part of the plan. Excited.pic.twitter.com/MjhbZ2ZPUv

Cool tidbit: Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is apparently named after Golden Horn .. in Istanbul. I had no idea.pic.twitter.com/Qb9m7dtmIa

I’m working on the system that cleans out old, unused entities from an Aether node’s database and it took me almost the whole day to realise I’m basically implementing a generational garbage collector.pic.twitter.com/0Nm6gQcmH8
