I made a (new) thing with Aether: Aether Pro. () I think it's cool for a bunch of reasons. The biggest of all, though, um, let me draw you a graph. () If this is your day, you're probably someone who needs to focus. This helps with that.

Also, while is cool in general, I feel like not a lot of people are aware of just how everywhere is,

I’ll be giving a talk at the Internet Archive () about this Jan 21 - latest numbers, new features, updates on sustainability efforts and what’s coming next. Other great folks in there too, should be a fun evening.

Software engineers spend a lot of time promoting abstraction. I've found concretization to be far more understandable and maintainable, esp in a rapidly changing codebase

It would be pretty easy for Twitter to allow people to subscribe to only EN tweets of a particular handle, and I wouldn’t pollute people’s timelines with a lang. they ultimately don’t understand. It’s stuff like this that cements dominance of English by a thousand paper cuts.

One long-standing pet peeve I have about Twitter is that it has no way of letting a user signify what language a tweet is. It makes me largely avoid tweeting in Turkish, which I am also fluent in, a language that most of my followers don’t speak. This is sad.

When I see technologists make mistakes in their grand projects, it’s often not because they don’t understand tech, but because they don’t understand how people work Granted this is a common cause of failure for almost anything, but P2P projects make me say this more than most
