Except that this isn't legitimate action by police. This is a private platform, not a public utility and they can demonetise whoever they want. I can decide who comes into my house and who doesn't, it's not abuse of power. Apples and oranges indeed.
I see we have disagreement on some basic aspects. Sedition and fake news to me in no way are free speech. (True) Free speech does not amount to any guilt. And bcoz u mentioned Kanhaiya's case, to me it seems like abuse of law by the govt.

The Constitution disagrees with you. Sedition and fake news are free speech. Unless of course, if you are a BJP supporter who supports all the changes made to article 19 by Nehru post 1950, just because they don't want to be offended. You either have free speech or you don't.

And "abuse of law by govt" sounds like giving the government a weapon to use against you, and hoping that the government will be too kind and benign to actually use it.

How it sounds depends on the individual. That said, 'abuse of law by govt' is just another reality, and it's not limited 2 sedition or fake news. So 2 imply that that's why fake news is free speech is effectively sayin all laws r redundant bcoz they could be misused by govt.
