    There is not a single climate scenario that decarbonizes energy and land use fast enough to keep us under 1.5C or 2C without also significantly *reducing* the energy and land use of rich nations. That is a fact, and we should be talking about it.

The both bet on a new and hitherto unproven idea of using mRNA, which has the long-promised advantage of speed. This idea has now survived a trial by pandemic and emerged likely triumphant. If mRNA vaccines help end the pandemic and restore normal life, they may also usher in a new era for vaccine development.

    It shouldn't have taken a pandemic for San Francisco to prioritize street space for outdoor eating & drinking over parking. And it shouldn't have taken devastating wildfires for California to prioritize the state's habitability over fossil fuel interests

    Fantastic afternoon of motorcycling. 120 miles through nature on the coastal twisties north of SF. Lots of other motorcycles out today. Lost 1.5 litres of water in this heat, so recovering and celebrating still being alive with drinks, ice cream, and Netflix 🏍️ 🍻 🍦 🎥
