Have no problem with SF being abstentionist, when they have a majority vote in any constituency. In south down, for example, 60% voted for parties that would represent them at Westminster. So the mp for south down is hardly respecting the wishes of his constituents.

SF have abandoned abstentionism before, it’s not a sacred cow. Their are a plethora of Republicans & others in Westminster who take the oath under duress to make a tangible difference to their constituencies.

@sinnfeinireland 7 Westminster MPs were elected on a platform of abstentionism and where few politicians appear to have little regard for the principles they stand on, it is tremendous to see them maintain the promise they made to the electorate.Thanks. drawing down salaries? can you google your ‘facts’ before you post them. I’ve no time for Sinn Fein but they stand on an abstentions basis and get elected as such

Really? How nieve are you. How many Tories would have voted with SF against their own government. FFS wise up. The criticism should be reserved for Labour who had 3 members ensure that got through the house by voting with the gov. And against their own party.
