10 years ago today I finished the 5th and 6th entries into a musical sculpture series that has been an incredibly rewarding creative endeavor. I’ve kept a couple but most have been donated to various charity auctions over the years.

For context it was 1989, the height of the Cold War. Nuclear proliferation, the threat of World War III and the environmental impact of nuclear waste were the main subjects on the news and in the classroom. The name was topical but we mainly picked it because it sounded cool.

While perhaps best known for his work on all 3 Stargate series, Joel also contributed music to Star Trek: First Contact and scored the video game Call of Duty 3. His career began with Steve Martin’s The Man With Two Brains and would come to include countless films and tv shows.
