#firecrackers : No doubt pollution effects health, but why only diwali? why not it should be taken care seriously through out 364 days to curb it? Why you dont run this news daily? Why you should not ask car/bikes manufacturers/ railways/ thermal power plants/ factories? - 1 more reply

Supreme Court will give the right, unbiased decision considering pollution, health & safety. Then, - people will claim ‘tradition’ Fringe groups will jump in with their version of history -The law keepers will not be able to enforce it. - Fire cracker units will claim rozi-roti
-
& 365X24Hrs nonstop running A.C. & luxurious Cars will teach us 3Hrs burning crackers contributes max to air pollutants !

These are necessary for human life.We can control pollution from them. What is the use of fire crackers?
-
Celebrations, festivals are necessary for social bonding. If you won't have festivals, there won't be socializing left. Yes,crackers affect health but industries, automobiles do more harm than use. People should use public transport & industries should be far from residential area.
-
Dear friend, many great festivals are celebrated grandly by people from villages to cities in our country without firecrackers.
-
When everyone is included then only it's social otherwise it's just a group celebrating. By your saying we must ban crackers not only on diwali but during new year, any marriage function or any kind of celebration! If this happens and everyone welcomes then it's good for society.

-
We should save our mother nature first
-
In isolation, yes. But India has other religious groups too One group is free to have religion-based 'personal laws', whereas bans r imposed on other religious practices Jallikattu is cruel, halal is not Diwali pollutes, Christmas cleans the air by cutting trees
