I will say that a TVT is the most studied surgical device I have seen. Multiple studies. I’ll have to read the article to find why it is included because all mesh is not the same.

It's worth listening to the item that was on The
@TheCurrentCBC It's just one anecdote of course, but it is terrifying. And the dismissal of concerns by her doctor will strike many people as too familiar. - Show replies

Most of my academic research is focused on conventional biomedicine - including impact of commercialization pressure on research, science hype, provision of unproven therapies, etc. This is not a "on the one hand/on the other" situation. We need good science everywhere!

100% true. I have been a big fan of your work for a long time and I am a big fan of
@DrJenGunter But what's getting a lot of play right now is critique of new age bs. But I wonder if some of the new-age appeal comes from a sense that medicine is insufficiently self-critical. - Show replies

Agreed. At some point we need to move past the debunking and start working to improve medicine. Over half the adult population diagnosed with chronic disease, health care systems unsustainable, way too many Rx. When's a good time to start? How about now?

Well said. Medicine wants publicity for questionable alternative care. I wonder if that is just a way to divert attention from the serious problems in medicine.

Less than 1% goes to CAM. Flex net racism in 1908 also closed down most black medical schools. Rockefeller $100 million gave big institutions a boost. When all you have is big corporations in medicine expect all your solutions to mirror this in medicine. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/ecam/2012/647896/ …
