Great piece by & differs from what Sen. Sanders says. “Consider the wages of ‘typical’ workers. ... Have their wages stagnated for decades? No. Since the summer of 1990 ... their wages have increased by 33%, after accounting for inflation.”

Just finished Ron Chernow's book "Washington: A Life." I've added on my lift his biography on Alexander Hamilton, which was the inspiration for the popular 2015 musical play “Hamilton.”

2.3% GDP growth is actually good, considering: 1. We have an aging population 2. We have full employment Growth would be even higher if we were able to add more restrictions on benefits such as food stamps, so we could get more people off the sidelines.

Wow. This is what we have come to in America. Now we are actually taught by people like Krugman that ad hominem attacks are good. He’s actually saying that all elected Republicans are bad people. That’s where we are at in America. No more arguing about ideas and thoughts.

Friends, you don't have to have it all together. I definitely don't. To pretend that you've "arrived" so that people respect you in church is a complete denial of the gospel.

Good article about what legalism is and how to avoid it.

The more the government has gotten involved in college education, the less affordable it’s become. Please explain to me how anyone could possibly hold the position that getting the government *more* involved is the answer to making it more affordable.

Washington read it and added 66 pages worth of his own footnotes, which included: “Self importance appears here, and “Insanity in the extreme!” If only Washington had a Twitter account back then!

The Democrat-Republican party was mad about the Jay Treaty and pretty much hated anything that Alexander Hamilton did. James Monroe published a 473-page document criticizing George Washington.

Reading through Ron Chernow’s “Washington: A Life,” and dwelling on the divisiveness of politics. In case we ever think back to the early days of our country’s history and think that our founding fathers were wise men who always got along, those thought can be squelched quickly.

This survey shows the percentage of companies that give time off for various holidays. Only six holidays + Christmas Eve are ones in which most companies give time off.

If you have to work today, you are like the majority of people. According to this survey, about 61% do not give time off for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. (The average increases a lot if you don't include government and banks.)

My review of Barry Goldwater's book "The Conscience of a Conservative." It's a very historical book. I hadn't realized what an influential figure Goldwater was until I read -- of all things -- Paul Krugman's book "The Conscience of a Liberal."
