    Helping to get the pilot Ambassador program funded is the achievement I'm most proud of from my time on the PSF Board. Hopefully 2018 is the year that pilot turns into a global program :)

    I just end writting the document "PSF Ambassador Program 2018" which propose the opening of the program to the entire world for 2018 and onwards. Wish me/us lucky on this since it's for the whole community! ;-)

    My team has been doing this research for six years and I’ve asked myself this question many, many times. Here are my thoughts.

    The things websites are doing to track users are totally abusive and messed up. This is great work. But why does it take academic research to uncover this stuff?

    I hope people pay as much attention to what has to say about building a successful sustainability model as they do to every random developer that complains about open source.

    Read the Docs is sustainable. Starting in 2018, we'll have a team of 4 folks working on it. We're looking at building tools to help OSS platforms & projects become sustainable. 2 years ago I thought I'd wasted years of my life, now it feels like RTD will exist for a long time.

    I think of this "make it work, make it reliable, make it efficient" division pretty much every time I discuss type systems with anyone :)

    Programming, as a young field, has yet to split into disciplines. Very different genres: - we don’t know quite what it will need to do (most user-facing software) - we are pretty sure, and it needs to be correct - we can define it now make it hella fast
