The student is applying to an internship in X but is interested in Y. The entire essay they write abt being interested in Y & no mention of being interested in X other than 1 like abt it possibly helping them get into Y. 🙄 This is not how this works. 😒

About 8 media organizations covered this press conference-- most of them local. One student said the school's black students are not being represented. She peered into the news cameras and said, "Well here we are. Do you see us?"

Kai says while some might feel comfort to have more police officers at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, he does not. He says it's intimidating & that black students will face most of the consequences of an overmilitarized predominantly white school.

Watching rich people defend unpaid internships is always a blast. “Well it got me into a great position that nepotism would’ve got me into anyway. I learned so much unpaid as my parents sent me money every month since they have generational wealth!”

I’m grateful to all of the people who will be marching against gun violence today, and I’m also grateful for all of the people who have been fighting against gun violence in their communities for decades even when no one was paying attention.

Fake news didn’t suddenly make people racist. Fake news knowingly exploited latent racist attitudes to game an election. Fake News did not turn your family member into a racist. It just confirmed their biases-and made them proud to talk out loud about it.
