The only reason to have voter registration is to use it as a tool to prevent people you don't want to vote from voting.

most countries don't have voter registration. The US does because we have a fundamental historical commitment to preventing ppl from voting.

media shows long lines at polling places as some sort of exercise of democracy. It's an exercise in disenfranchisement.
