Jesse regularly forces trans and pro trans journalists to lock their accounts, leave twitter, and occasionally badgers editors into firing them. a huge part of being a trans writer online is dealing with harassment from Singal. yet he continually claims he's the injured party.

courageous Jesse Singal, fighting the good fight against the evil hordes by constantly badgering trans writers and trying to silence them and get them fired.

he makes money by harassing trans journalists. like, he claims he's defending his career, but bigotry against trans people is such that if you set yourself up as a leading harasser of trans people, lots of bigots will line up to give you money.

he's not an especially self aware or thoughtful man, so it doesn't have to be a conscious business model. but it is his business model. the more trans people he hurts, the more money he makes.

fwiw, I think it is in fact fare to characterize Jesse's position by saying he thinks trans people are a contagion when he continually pushes the idea of social contagion.

he can disagree. but he doesn't get to control how people take his words, nor is he the final arbiter of every iota of his meaning. he doesn't think this position follows from his arguments; reasonable people can disagree, imo.

just like when he says he supports trans people, you're allowed to look at his actions and disagree.

when you are constantly assailing every leading trans journalist, writer, and expert you can find, at some point you might ask yourself, "why do all these people feel I am a bad faith actor? could I have done something wrong?" Jesse never asks himself that.

he's just completely convinced his motives are so pure, his commitment to trans rights so shining, that even GLAAD telling him he sucks doesn't sway him.

Jesse is so committed to truth and fairness that he instantly asked Liz Bruenig to delete her tweet when she randomly and grotesquely implied I was a child abuser. Oh, wait, he didn't do that. He just reluctantly said she did the right thing when she deleted it.

anyway. Jesse decided some years back to inflict himself on the trans community out of the blue, and he's never stopped inflicting himself. hopefully some day he'll have a moment where he's like, "Am I the baddie?" and stop. not holding my breath.
