I mean, this is exactly what happened with beandad. his daughter asked for food and he said no. and he has tyrannical power, which means if he says no, she can't eat. this is obviously a problem...but adults often treat it like a joke because children's weakness is seen as funny.

There's a family in my neighborhood that regularly punishes their children with prolonged "grounding" (in their fucking ROOMS, without reading materials or toys), up to several weeks.
