people can't see their families and loved ones. many people have lost jobs. there's a lot of fear and anxiety. and that's not counting many people (more than 1 million now) who have lost friends or loved ones.)

not just because covid, but definitely in part because of covid, this year has a good claim on being the worst year of my life. and a lot of people had it a lot worse than me.

You did a fairly poor job quantifying “really hard”. Like she said, most of us have had some strain, but many have lost their livelihoods and loved ones. Thankful that your family, have only seen disruption and not tragedy.

We've been luckier than most, but we've lost income and my spouse hasn't seen his family in exactly a year. His grandma is 93. I got a medium bad case of COVID. Missing our honeymoon was the least of our worries. Sounds nice for that lady, though.
