just re looking at Andray's comments, because I do respect him a lot and think he's a good faith interlocutor. I still don't see a ton that's useful there though.

it's a useful thing to do! lots of people have done it well. I was trying, much more narrowly, to explain why prioritizing class as a theoretical concept, or as a basis for organizing, or as a moral precept, is confused and wrong.

he didn't elaborate though. I just disagree with him there though. defeating fascism is a worthy left goal, and the country would be way further to the left if Black voters won elections more often than white voters, rather than vice versa.

anyway. it's never great being insulted and dismissed by someone you respect, but these things happen. I still think Andray is worth reading and listening to, even if we don't agree here.
