at some point you really need to show people you are sincerely interested in their welfare and in learning from them, rather than in being the smartest person in the room.

I think Bruenig is advocating for raising SSI, which is good, but the jocular ironic reversal just comes off callous and weird when you're talking about fairly intricate policy details.

like a lot of his policy work is good. I have legit learned things from him. but his twitter is just a nightmare of trolling and using his policy points for the worst kind of ironic assholery and sneering contrarian cruelty.
