I’m fact technically the insurgent vs insider frame with Sanders and Buttigieg makes Sanders the insider since it’s Sanders who’s technically been in Congress for 20 something years!

Buttigieg politics make him the ultimate sold out insider

It's an underrated aspect for him. And I'm 100% convinced that it is (unfortunately) the future of the party in significant parts of the country Normally the political path for a prominent mayor would be into the House, or even the Senate. But Indiana is red and trending redder
-
South Bend is in a fairly red congressional district that is trending redder. Indiana's Senate and State Government seats are all red and trending redder Outside of the Presidency (or a strong run for it), Buttigieg has no path to higher political office. This is his shot

there is no line in US ‘democracy’ both major parties have chosen open primaries as the method to choose nominees and the only requirement is popularity their argument is that the DNC should have more control? to vet & reject potential candidates on notions of succession/duration
-
In their eyes, "there is no line in US ‘democracy’" is the problem to be solved.
