it's almost as if broadcasting solidarity with a transphobe is its own statement of policy, and encourages people to lean into their bigotry.

to be clear, I've had perfectly civil, thoughtful convos with Bernie fans who disagree with me on the Rogan endorsement. but the vast majority of interactions have been less productive than that.

the broad tent includes (checks notes) transphobes, but not ppl who actually voted for Sanders but wish he wouldn't associate himself with transphobes.

like, I am literally a leftist whose vote is winnable, as in, there are many instances in which I can imagine voting for Sanders in the primary. but weirdly the "we must do outreach to all!" folks aren't interested in my vote!

A lot of them want me to know that Rogan is the same as NYT and the editorial board of NYT is the same as Judith Miller and Bret Stephens and also that Bernie definitely would've politely declined an NYT endorsement had he received one.
