we're talking about an issue which is literally life and death. this kind of self deceit and willful rejection of anything that doesn't fit the narrative is just shockingly irresponsible.

obviously, antiwar stances are just not that popular at the moment. that's bad. but you're not going to figure out how to change it if you just insist there's no problem.

I wish I had a good, quick way to change opinion on this. I don't. but I do know that we won't come up with a solution by insisting that polls we don't like are illegitimate.

I wouldn’t trust Bernie on FP either, even if I happened to agree with him on the particulars.

I would caution that with a large event like this people may find out more about the candidates' policies in many areas and change their minds. It's important to remember that polling is backward-looking, and can't really predict events changing perspectives very well.

(That said, people might simply not change their minds about Biden's policies, in which case your take will be correct)

There was no place for antiwar sentiment in the 2016 Democratic convention and 2020 won't be any better. This doesn't mean it's wrong to vote for a Democrat against Trump, but it means that we have to do more than just presidential campaign politics.

I think that's right. way too much focus on the presidency.

More depressing he maintains a commanding lead overall. Aside from name recognition, I really don’t get it. Does being Obama’s VP really grant him such a huge benefit of the doubt? Do people not see what’s in front of their own eyes?
