Only 57% believe we are causing it, that’s f**king hilarious

Choose to ignore would be a more accurate term than “believe”. I honestly believe that most people that deny are just the hard headed partisans that will NEVER concede that Al Gore was right all those years ago.
-
And apparently 30% don't even think it is warming, which is simply what thermometers and satellites say.

"70% of Americans believe global warming is HAPPENING & 57% believe “global warming is HUMAN CAUSED" Well that settles it then I guess. Who needs data or science or statistics?https://twitter.com/Thongch34759935/status/1069435900688457728 …

I think first off....this has ceased to be a debate and every time media position this as such it allows for nefarious misinformation. Second, negating the role of lobby and special interest money in maintaining the status quo in these stories is negligent.

The climate does not care whether people believe it’s changing.

The ones not believing we're doing it keep using the argument of, 'Earth has done this before' yes, but not at the rate that we are seeing today. The rapid pace of this change is our doing and with that comes more vicious natural disasters that eventually will cripple us.
-
This is part of the problem with the polls....they polarize the science. Yes, there is a natural element of global warming BUT the man-made interference since the industrial revolution has seriously disrupted that natural cycle, maybe even broken it.
-
Yes, because our infrastructure is gradually heating up the earth but people don't seem to believe a mass amount of infrastructure is capable of producing such an effect.
-
No, and that is because we keep framing it as a debate or an opinion you can have the luxury of negating. The fact is that this affects every aspect of our behaviour and it's time to get on to approaches and planning rather than rehashing the debate that is long over.
-
It also doesn't help when we have people claiming that EVERY scientist across the globe is being paid to give these warnings.
-
Yes, conspiracy theories are legend on this subject & we shouldn't tolerate them much less debate them. Honestly, this one really grates though, scientists don't get paid or respected as much as they should and we have wingnuts running around suggesting they are all millionaires

If Climate Change was a religion, then it would matter what you believe. It's not, and it doesn't.

Good thing science and facts exist and don’t care whether we “believe” them or not. This isn’t man in the sky religious fantasy, it is observable fact.
