Next they'll invent a train...that can go on water
-
-
-
Also in development, individual mini-trains that seat 4-6.
-
With available 3rd row
-
And leather 12-way power bucket seats.
-
Which don't require tracks.

wouldn't that ... make this... an airplane?
-
tethered to the ground. what could go wrong?
-
Exactly what I was thinking
-
AirGroundBus...AGB (I mean it sounds like KGB but it's not...so what could possibly go wrong)
-
In Australia AGB means something VERY different.
-
I'm sure it does.

What problem does this solve?
-
Power transmission through the track means that there’s more capacity on the vehicle for payload. It also looks like it’s flying low enough for ground-effect efficiencies?
-
Fair. I imagine it has efficiencies. Still gotta get past the massive engineering design challenge, and actually getting people to agree to having a giant plane buzzing over their homes multiple times a day.
-
Totally fair. With distributed electric propulsion the noise issue may be lessened - though I’m not sure anyone has proven this in practice yet
-
Good thread.

Let me just stop you at “Russian engineer.”
-
this is dahir insaat they aren't engineers so much as patent trolls actual russian engineers are the ones who invented the cell phone
-
but dahir insaat? they make demo videos for unrealistic stuff like this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7t6S6vg6U8 …
