Hearing started w/ HSH saying SIP hotels are expensive, for $ reasons need to start closing them. Then we learn entire SIP program for the year costs $178M, $114M paid by FEMA, $61M from other fed/state sources, costing city just $3M. We should NOT be shutting down SIP hotels.

Has that funding been committed by FEMA and those “fed/state sources” into the next fiscal year? I imagine they dry up at some point and the city can’t afford a $178M budget increase when they do.
