Love this. 5 years into building GPU accelerated simulations of neurodegenerative disease, with grants, presentations, publications, small molecules, and patents produced I often think about whether I should have picked up a PhD along the way. Indie is the future.

I considered going back to school to study philosophy/psychology, but I don’t trust someone else’s curriculum or idea of what should be studied. It is cool to see you forge your own path and open up potential paths for those who will come after you. :)

Thank you. This is the path I took for a decade from 2007, self-funded independent researcher; my thesis is published as open source implementation that enables enormous potentiality. Adoption is slow because I didn't build community around this transformative tech.
