Yes! My theory: reading isn't really about what you remember, but how it shapes your thinking

For those who think Wikipedia editors don't gatekeep: "Spam: Removed section where an 'independent researcher' of dubious nature (no association to any academic institution; not an expert in the field) posted a link to his personal blog under the guise of 'criticism'."

I think I've gotten significantly better at trolling my friends over the years, which correlates to a decline in my overall neuroticism. Is good to carry a bit of lightness in the world

I sent a fax today and felt a mix of delight at the beep-boop machine, plus dread that this is a thing I still have to do. Thought about Kevin Kelly's "technology never dies". Also Byrne Hobart's "we need to throw COBOL programmers in jail so we stop supporting old technology".

Just signed up for this workshop, led by the inimitable I've been *dying* for a thoughtful crew to talk about evolving online social spaces with. Academia + tech ppl aren't cutting it, but this group felt immediately right to me. If you feel similarly, join up!

Nicolas Bourbaki was the collective pseudonym of a bunch of French mathematicians in the 1930s, who all wanted to write under the same topic I like thinking about how they might've started a Substack today

Odgovor korisnicima i sljedećem broju korisnika:

One interesting pattern in philosophy is that obscure thinkers (Foucault, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein) are often more "generative" than "clear" ones (Mill, Russell). With the latter it feels like they've done all the work for you and it's cut & dried.
