All fear of “offensive” speech is bourgeois and reactionary...Notions of propriety and decorum come to the fore in urbanized periods ruled by an expanding middle class, which is obsessed with cleanliness, respectability and conformism.
They want to punish you for your speech because they can’t punish you for your thoughts.

Exactly. Censoring language is forced Whorfianism. Language is the way we think and also our toolkit for progress. If it is limited, we are doomed to regress.
