Excerpt from a home office reasons for refusal letter for a convert to Christianity. I’ve seen a lot over the years, but even I was genuinely shocked to read this unbelievably offensive diatribe being used to justify a refusal of asylum.pic.twitter.com/R1wA1HMNwH

Whatever your views on faith, how can a government official arbitrarily pick bits out of a holy book and then use them to trash someone’s heartfelt reason for coming to a personal decision to follow another faith?

That’s unbelievable! (Actually, it’s the Hone Office... so sadly it’s very believable...) So sorry for your client.

Don't you think its because there are now muslims working in the Home Office?

fwiw as an atheist (former christian) theologian, I'm ashamed. And I don't even believe in God, Christian or otherwise. Unlike the Queen. Or Theresa May.

Just a way that the decision maker can justify deciding that someone isn’t a Christian with basically no reason for doing so. Randomly googling Bible passages with violence in them
