About that, NASA uses the l o g i c a l system and the only time someone tried to use the Imperial for space they ended up crashing in Mars.

You try being in the uk where there is no logic. Milk? Pints. Cream? Litres. Petrol? Litres. Driving? Miles. Car efficiency? Miles per Gallon. Running? Kilometres. Hot days? Fahrenheit. Cold days? Centigrade. Length of wood? Metres. Width of wood? Inches.

I'm a carpenter in the U.S. Measurements are my bread and butter. I grew up with, trained on, and use the imperial system (as if I have a choice). With that said, I recognize the superiority of metric and wish we'd transitioned decades ago.

It's the changing over that's hard. If you were somehoe starting a new country from scratch you'd obviously go for metric, but when imperial is deeply entrenched it's not as simple as flicking a switch. In the UK we've ended up with a Frankenstein's monster of using both.
