Using the internet for sporadic learning is often deceptive. It feels like you’re using your curiosity when it’s really just addiction

Older generations tend to have the notion that young people are "good with tech," Sometimes ends up conflating tech knowledge with tech use. Younger generations are still "below the API."

Before, I was tagging based on domain. Then I realized that there are close to zero futures where I will want to review all of my monetary policy notes. I still think it’s useful for language, since I could see wanting to study all my Tibetan or Spanish cards.

Making so many more Anki cards now that I quit tagging. Crazy how much difference a small bit of friction makes.

Reading on the smartphone (in portrait) more than reading on kindle. Fewer fixations per line. More natural to scroll. Easier to highlight and draw new media. Easier to carry.

Sit on the floor! Its hellish for a little while, but now I feel myself aching as I sit in chairs. Feels more normal than being super comfy in a chair

Key 🔑 to the holy grail of fast project execution is focus. If you are able to zone in, then not being zoned in feels strange —> onto the next thing. And the projects fall like dominoes

Thinking about how rich language is. The semantics behind an expression or word build from each users psychology around that expression. Wittgensteins ruler shows what your particular psychology around the word is. Eg how does the word “Monday” hit you? Copy

Took a randomized control trial memory test today. Scored well above average in all measures except response time, where I was well below average. Is there a real average spot here? Or is it just that faster response time makes for worse answering and vice-versa
