Thank you so much to for supporting Flash Kernel with the latest Franco Kernel Manager :) You can download the latest zip from my server and flash it automagically, without ever having to boot into recovery. Stay tuned for a giveaway...

I've decided to continue the blogging trend, this time around exploring Android Cuttlefish, a virtual platform for testing Android. I've been using it to test LTO and CFI with upstream LLVM, since that is maintained in kernel/common. Post:

It has been pretty interesting to mess around with Cuttlefish, including building it from scratch, running the Android mainline kernel on it, and using the latest Clang to try and catch regressions early. I'll probably do a blog post about it in the coming weeks.

Forgot to post about it since it was so minor but I now have a commit in LLVM :) Nothing like tracking down something for an hour and fixing it in three seconds lol...

There are so many things wrong with this tweet and I don't even know where to start...

Here's a little sneak peak of what's coming (very soon)! FK Kernel Manager will give all kernel developers the ability to allow their users to download their kernels through my app. It's very simple, free and you can keep their kernels up to date easily!

  9. And now my kernel is built with LTO from Google's kernel/common (and yes, the lolcat was obviously necessary).

  10. And it is live! I am pretty happy with how it turned out, I am sure it will come in handy for myself later. Let me know if you have questions or things that could be improved!

  12. to revisit it and experience it almost like it was the first time. Really liked the overall atmosphere and storyline, especially the twist ending. Now to play Bioshock and Bioshock 2 (although probably after the Tomb Raider series...)

  13. I finished Bioshock Infinite yesterday for the first time. I first bought the game in 2014 to play on my MacBook Pro (lol) but I gave up on it rather quickly because I got stuck trying to get to Monument Island. Was refreshing...

  14. Probably going to make how to do this my first blog post... I had a bit of a hard time figuring this out because there is not a ton of documentation so I want to pass that on to others and have it as a backup for myself. Stay tuned...?

  15. It is super cool that Microsoft made it easy to replace WSL 2's kernel. Decided to update to the latest linux-stable version, compile with clang, and link with ld.lld; everything works fine!

With all the amazing work from and many Clang and LLVM devs, I'm excited to have finally gotten x86 booted with working CFI. :) (arm64 has been working for a while...)

  19. Man it would be really nice to get the dark mode that was announced for the Gmail app... tired of having my retinas seared. Never would have thought that Instagram would get dark mode before Gmail but guess that is expected with Google server side rollouts 🙄

  20. I've been using git for almost three years now, sent a couple hundred patches to the Linux kernel mailing list, and I still HATE doing patch series... Always feel like I am going to mess up the threading or something.
