For what it’s worth, I’m *super* happy to rename the default branch structure of “master” to “main” and I hope we can all do this together as a community with @github leading the charge by implementing in their product moving forward

We're working to align across the community and with our friends who also have a significant stake in Git, but it seems like a good choice from our research and reasoning through it, and seems to be the choice most folks are going with that I've seen.

Preferably also make actions, protected branchs and, anything else which accepts a branch pattern redirect or respect the rename. The work will get done, but you can make this transition really nice for everyone by sorting out these details.
