🔧 OpenSea Update: Social Links, Sticky Profile Header
The updated OpenSea profile header now makes it easier to associate your OpenSea account with your Twitter, Instagram and Web site. (eng. credit:
Exercise caution and follow recommended security practices when connecting to a hardware wallet, including but not limited to: confirming you're interacting with http://opensea.io and confirming you have a verified build of MetaMask and Ledger Live installed.
6. Clicking the confirm button in MetaMask will show you a transaction to approve or a message to sign on your physical device.
7. Approve the tx or sign the message on your physical device.
8. Once you're done, close the Device Bridge in Ledger Live by clicking 'Disconnect'.
2. Open Ledger Live on desktop and unlock your physical device.
3. Connect to your Ledger account in MM. The first authenticated action you want to take (ex. going to your Settings page on OpenSea or clicking 'Sell' on an item you own), will show this dialog in Chrome.
📢 Thread: How to use OpenSea with Ledger devices and MetaMask.
A recent Chrome update made it cumbersome to use OpenSea with Ledger devices + MetaMask, but it is still doable:
1. From MetaMask's Settings, click "Advanced" and then toggle on the "Use Ledger Live" option.
✨New at OpenSea: Counter-Offers
We now enable users to make counter-offers on OpenSea. To make a counter-offer, go to the Offers page on your profile (http://opensea.io/account) and click 'Counter.' The original offer-maker will receive an e-mail that a counter-offer was made.
✨ New at OpenSea: "SOS" Button
In the interest of protecting users on OpenSea from phishing attacks and other forms of theft, we've rolled out a feature that allows users to disable OpenSea trading for NFTs in their account if they believe their wallet has been compromised.
🔧The floor price stat for collections on OpenSea was previously updating once every hour, but now updates in real-time.
If you notice a delta between the reported floor price and the lowest-priced item in a collection, let us know.
🔧 OpenSea upgrade: We've just rolled out an option to toggle between different grid sizes when viewing NFTs on the search page, collection page and profile page, allowing users to view more items at once. (eng credit:
OpenSea now has a status page at http://status.opensea.io where we'll be documenting system outages, performance degradations, etc.
Performance and stability have suffered during this period of hyper-growth, but we're heavily prioritizing this category of issues.
📢 Private sales on OpenSea (sales set for specific buyers) will now use the same sale structure as public sales.
This means that creators will receive their specified royalties for sales of items in their collection regardless of whether those sales are public or private.
We've spoken with the MetaMask team and they will be temporarily disabling the mobile QR code sync feature to defend against the phishing attacks that have become more prevalent in recent weeks.
Saddened to hear an OpenSea user was the victim of a significant phishing attack last night.
The scammer masquerades as an OpenSea employee and has the user scan a QR code granting wallet access.
Please be vigilant and direct support requests through our Help Center/ZenDesk.
📊Yesterday OpenSea set a new record for volume in a 24h period: $125 million. That was yesterday.
Today we smashed that.
The new record for daily volume on OpenSea is $195 million USD. 🚀
📢 PSA: Phishing scams have become increasingly prevalent in the crypto space.
If an alleged support rep asks you to 'sync your wallet' by scanning a QR code, please reach out to us through a support ticket (https://support.opensea.io/hc/en-us/requests/new…).
Small update on OpenSea offer management: We've made it easier to make offers by bringing that action above-the-fold on item pages.
We're currently building a more robust offer management system (min offers, ability to hide offers for certain items/collections).
There are a few features that I think could greatly curb fraud on OpenSea during launches. Wanted to poll for thoughts on one proposal:
"Endorsements" - showing the # of users, including any verified OpenSea users, who endorse a project. Social proof as a trust indicator.
🔧 OpenSea Update: Collection Page
We've made some updates to collection pages:
1. They're now sorted Price: Low to High by default.
2. Filters/traits are now accessible in a sidebar.
3. Searching for a collection brings you to that collection page rather than the search view.
We're interested in identifying ways to better communicate that a new project is trustworthy/authentic. Currently we over-index on volume to the detriment of smaller creators.
Which properties instill trust (which sanity checks do you employ) when considering an NFT purchase?
Note to the OpenSea community on referral payouts: We’ve temporarily suspended referrals until we can roll out some changes including a streamlined payout process and referral support on Polygon. We'll still be paying out referrals (above the threshold) up to today.
OpenSea is crushing it by every conceivable metric right now, so in the interest of avoiding complacency:
If in two years OpenSea has failed, what killed us?
✨ New OpenSea Feature: Collection-less Creation ✨
You can now create NFTs without first creating a collection.
Access the new creation flow from the navbar. Items without a collection will be added to a default collection we generate for each account.

Additionally, as a buyer safety measure we now restrict bundling to items with the same verification status. This will prevent bad actors from bundling a fake item with a real item and conning someone into buying the mixed set.
CoinTelegraph just "quoted" me in an article by republishing a tweet unrelated to the article's subject, framing it as my response. The tweet's not embedded, so its actual context is not clear.
They never asked me for a response.
