Excited to share this preprint! We applied deep-sampling approaches to investigate how hormonal fluctuations we experience across the menstrual cycle- a central facet of reproductive life- shapes the brain. 30 consecutive days of MRI scanning & blood draws= a true labor of love.

Women make up about half of the population, but female animals make up a far smaller percentage of biomedical research subjects. In neuroscience studies, males outnumbered females nearly six to one.

  14. A replication & extension of our earlier work showing that threat-related adversities (but not deprivation) accelerate pubertal timing & this may be one pathway through which trauma leads to psychopathology.
