I've read a ~250 page abridged of its best excerpts, I don't think I'll ever read the whole 5000 pages of it. I've read an introduction to it and the author said no one ever reads it as 95% is Saint-Simon discussing who gets to sit closest to the king's uncle in a supper.

To be honest, I don't think anyone gets anything from Saint-Simon unless one reads him with an esoteric-aristocratic hermeneutic. I suppose the author of this quip would no doubt find the Laws of Manu tedious in the extreme.
