Read Stendhal on Pompei in Rome, Naples & Florence; he has great words on the difference in sexual mores between christian Europe & Antiquity. Just consider Provençal culture and literature which elevated sexuality & love almost to a cult.
Shame and guilt in sexuality are slave interpretations. Noble cultures have always understood and mastered sexuality while celebrating it. The slave hates it because he feels mastered by it, he cannot control it. The master has enough strength to live it, use it, & sublimate it.
