The implicit religion of superhero movies is gnosticism. The heroes do not "become" good, they reveal through hardship their fundamentally Good nature, which is more-than-human. This hardship is their struggle against the forces of evil which seek to control the world.

Batman is the better superhero, and batman movies are the only good superhero movies. To him is applied a superficial understanding of modern consciousness as driven by past experiences/trauma/repressed emotions.
