There are only three chords: tonic, subdominant, dominant. I is a tonic, ii is a subdominant (secondary dominant), iii a tonic, IV a subdominant, V a dominant, vi a subdominant, vii¤ a dominant.

I took one music class in my life, I only went to 2 sessions and then ran out of there in horror at how the professor had absolutely no understanding of harmonic movement. What he was teaching was totally based on critique and not meant to produce actual composers
