It is better for one not to read than to read bad books.Reading poor literarure like Sci-Fi, thrillers, Genre or Young Adult Fiction is a vice often encouraged in children, & always a vile poison for their spirits. Their time would be better spent playing outside.

I remember when I was reading Beowulf in class and we ended spent more time talking about LotR than about the poem (at least it felt that way.) Ban bad books

I remember the prof explaining the concept of canon and why Harry Potter wasn't part of it, basic white bitches were screeching and screaming, on the verge of tears - I used a moment of silence to add "it's actually not even literature" - one of them cried.
